About Visit Rallarvegen

Visitrallarvegen.no is a collaborative project between 15 small and medium-sized enterprises linked to the tourist industry along Rallarvegen. It was Finse 1222 who in 2009 took the initiative to establish the collaboration. The initiative was in response to a competition announced by the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry under the name “Et helhetlig reiseliv” (“Holistic tourism”). Our application was one of four pilot projects which were allocated NOK 600,000 with the following response:

“Your project is a good example of how to create a journey through everything that Norway has to offer in terms of unspoiled nature and powerful experiences.” If the project is successful, Norway’s unique international position as an adventure destination for snow/ice, fjords and mountains will be reinforced.

Visitrallarvegen.no is organised as a project under the company Finse 1222 AS. The sales and marketing manager at Finse 1222, Hilde Vikane, is employed by the project on a part-time basis and is the contact person for the project. All collaboration partners are directly or indirectly linked to Rallarvegen. We have divided the world’s best waffle into four delicious waffle hearts: Rallarvegen, Nærøyfjorden, Hardangerjøkulen and Aurlandsdalen.

In launching visitrallarvegen.no, we are striving to make it easier for holidaymakers and travellers to find information concerning our region. We are aiming to bring together all our offers, services and activities in a single place and thereby provide a planning tool for visitors and travellers alike. We ask everyone to contact the enterprises within the project directly, as visitrallarvegen.no is not intended to be a tour operator.

The world’s best waffle is hereby served. It is up to travellers and adventure-seekers to find the best waffle heart!
